A “bear mat” for your bee keeping Bear Sentry.

A friend up Vancouver Island sent us a pro tip to share: she put landscape fabric down in her apiary and extended it beyond the electric fence perimeter.

This helps to keep grass from touching the wires of course, but it also retains moisture in the soil “under paw” for a better shock. At least two visitors have been unwelcomed this spring, and we’ll look forward to some video from the night cam of this Bear Sentry in action.
